Overview

Step into the world of traditional Japanese culinary art with an immersive soba-making experience led by Chihana. Based in Yokohama, Chihana is renowned for crafting authentic 100% buckwheat soba, known as "juwari soba," using premium Japanese buckwheat. This experience showcases time-honored techniques passed down through generations.

In this hands-on session, you'll learn the precise methods of mixing, rolling, and cutting your own noodles, all under expert guidance that empowers even beginners to create delicious soba.

Discover the fascinating story behind this cherished tradition as you explore how the rustic heritage of Fukushima’s soba culture has been artfully revived in the vibrant, modern setting of Yokohama’s Noge district—promising an unforgettable journey of flavor and craftsmanship.

What to Expect

Begin with a warm greeting from Chihana’s soba experts, a Yokohama-based soba master rooted in Fukushima’s traditions. Using 100% freshly ground Japanese buckwheat, you’ll mix, roll, and cut your own juwari soba (100% buckwheat soba), crafted with a unique method that ensures unmatched freshness and flavor—a hallmark of Yokohama’s heritage. Conclude with cleanup and savor your freshly crafted soba at a nearby partner restaurant through our exclusive boiling service, available since April 2021.
